A second bait hive is on our roof, next to our first hive.
This is our third bait hive, located at a friend’s house about 2-3km away from our place. Last season they had a swarm settle on their back wall, so there must be bees nearby!
Keeping our fingers crossed, hopefully one of these bait hives will do its job…
Bait hives are the way to go. I’ve been successful using old comb and daubing with Lemon Grass Oil. My Bee Beard log hive is filled with bees from a tree. I hung my bait hive on the very tree that had bees in it. Came back 10 days later and there were bees flying in with pollen.
I love your Bee Beard log hive, that’s truly amazing! I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything quite like that, so good to hear that it’s still going well 🙂
